Products awarded this mark are free from harmful substances that have a negative impact on human health, such as pesticides, chlorophenols, allergenic dyes, banned azo dyes and extractable heavy metals.
GOTS certification guarantees the natural origin of the fibres and organic cultivation methods based on the relevant international guidelines. Appropriate water management plays an important role. Producers are obliged to use purification plants and a closed water cycle. GOTS certification is issued for 1 year and is renewed. An annual audit takes place to check that the company is operating in accordance with the requirements it implemented at the start of the process.
