Bold Icon is the tenth edition of a limited collection that explores the boundary between the material and metaphysical worlds. It was created in the SS25 season as an integral part of the fashion show at the Theodore Wiskott Palace, of which history and elegance emphasised the essence of Bold. However, the basic inspiration for its shape was the 19th-century art of icon painting, with its symbolism of colours and shapes and its way of depicting reality on the border between the human world and the sacred, symbolised by the burgundy colour surrounding traditional icons. We can also find elements of the design that refer geometrically to the outline of the icon, as well as the use of the traditional linocut technique, in a pattern suggesting reflections and a kind of similarity on both sides of a defined axis – a border. In this line, conceptual work meets the most advanced sewing and finishing techniques and top-of-the-line materials, which allow it to stand out from the standard collection.
